Posted by Louise Findlay on February 20, 2013 at 12:20 PM Comments comments (0)

There are many types of vampire novels from the big Twilight and Vampire Diaries to the obscure like Vampire Syndrome. The trick to writing a vampire novel is.

1. Don't do what has already been done.

2. Don't make your vampires all powerful, someone has to defeat them.

3. If you have multiple novels in a series, make sure they have the same powers.

4. Don't make everyone vampires, who is there to bite.

5. Do make your story original, there are many vampire novels, what is your take on them.

Hopefully now you can write better vampire fiction.

Any book starts with great writing, characters that people can connect with and an interesting and entertaining plot. You want to write well and keep your readers entertained, those are the main starting points. Not everyone is going to love your story or your thoughts but you need to seek out the people that do.

I've always loved a series. I have a couple of characters that I read about as soon as the next book comes out. People like to follow the life of a character that they can relate to or that entertains them. A series book can almost guarantee that your fans will be waiting with anticipation for the next book to come out so they can see what happens next.

Some great writers don't get the most out of self publishing because they are writers not business people. With that being said know your abilities and limitations, self publishing means you are the "go to" person for every decision. You need to be a great writer and a great business person.

When I say know your limitations I don't mean you shouldn't self publish if you don't have a sense for marketing or sales I only mean you need to get help with the things you aren't good at. There are many options available to in self publishing today that makes it easy for anyone to get their book published.

You can be a great author and the world deserves to experience your creativity. You just need to understand what you are getting yourself into and ask for help with the things you aren't comfortable with. There is plenty of help available with all of the tasks you'll encounter along the journey of publishing your book, take advantage of them. The reason that the self publishing industry has taken off in the last few years is because it is now easier than ever before to get your story to the people.

Let a professional deal with your ebook strategy. For a smallest investment, you can get numerous submissions of your book to topnotch ebook promotion websites, get Twitter campaigns, and benefit from other strategic campaigns, such as a competition for a fan review, to improve awareness for your book.

Tour your book on the Internet. Promote your book on blog sites that are connected to your genre or to your particular market. This is an excellent way to get people to take a look at your book and allowing them to sort of distribute the good word about it to others in their network.
